Say NO to H.R.28, The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025
The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, would revoke federal funding from schools that allow transgender girls and women to play on girls’ and women’s sports teams, essentially implementing a nationwide ban. The "problem" that H.R. 28 allegedly addresses is virtually non-existent - of the over 500,000 student athletes (male and female) currently competing in the NCAA, fewer than 10 are transgender.
What the legislation will do is create widespread confusion, discrimination, and emotional trauma to children as young as kindergarten age. Girls of any age could be asked to prove their gender by submitting to an invasive physical inspection of their genitals by an adult stranger without parents being present, a humiliating and potentially unsafe requirement. I strongly urge you to vote NO on H.R.28, The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. This legislation is unnecessary and would protect nobody but would instead further stigmatize and marginalize a tiny and already very vulnerable population of trans and non-binary children and adults. Young children could be required to submit to a humiliating and potentially unsafe physical inspection of their genitals by an adult without parents being present. Absolutely not! This bill is part of the MAGA quest to turn the US into a country of, by and for white, Christian nationalists. I'm counting on you to stand in their way!

Say NO to the Educational Choice for Children Act (S. 292/H.R. 817)
The Educational Choice for Children Act (S. 292/H.R. 817) is a costly voucher-inspired scheme that would cost the U.S. Treasury $10 billion a year or $100 billion over a 10-year period. In return for donations to scholarship-granting organizations (SGOs) that pay for private and religious schools, individuals and corporations would get dollar-for-dollar tax credits worth far more than the usual deduction for charitable contributions. People could also offload stocks to SGOs and evade taxes on capital gains.
Not only is the scheme unfair as it disproportionately benefits wealthy families, but it also ignores the 90% of Americans who attend public school. Vouchers don’t work in the rural communities where public schools are the economic center, nor do they improve student performance. Moreover, special needs students who attend private schools lose important legal rights and protections. Taxpayer dollars should go to public schools open to all students, not private schools that can pick and choose their students.
