Tell the USDA to release funds for farmers

The USDA has frozen more than $22 billion in grants to farmers that was approved by Congress and was awarded through several programs, including the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Conservation Stewardship Program, Rural Energy for America Program, and the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities Program. The funding primarily supports projects that will help farmers conserve natural resources, improve onsite efficiency, and implement regenerative agricultural practices. From rotational grazing systems that improve soil health to electric irrigation systems, solar arrays, and even just fencing, each project supports farm longevity and resiliency. Learn more here.

Let's email Secretary Brooke Rollins and tell her to release the funds. Her email is: agsec@usda.gov

Dear Secretary Rollins,

I am writing to urge you to release obligated funds to farmers as soon as possible. More than $22 billion is being withheld from farmers who are counting on it, forcing them to abandon projects they have planned their operations around, back out of earning opportunities like farmer’s markets due to lack of capacity, and scramble to cover the costs they were promised reimbursement for. The situation is especially dire for small farms with narrow profit margins.

The funding primarily supports projects that will help farmers conserve natural resources, improve onsite efficiency, and implement regenerative agricultural practices. Our farmers still have animals to care for and planting seasons to navigate. But without the federal support they were promised, they now have the added burden of completely reworking plans and finding ways to recoup losses. Please give our farmers the funding they are legally owed as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Save Our Libraries

Late on Friday, March 14, Trump issued an executive order attempting to dismantle the only federal agency dedicated to funding library services, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Millions of people love public libraries and rely on their services and programs. The American Library Association is asking us to send a letter to Congress asking them to overturn the March 14 executive order, and to continue at least level funding for IMLS in fiscal year 2026. This is really important and only takes 5 minutes!

Immigrant Advocate Facing Deportation

On Monday, immigration enforcement arrested Jeanette Vizguerra, an undocumented activist who has spent her life fighting for workers and immigrants, while she was on break from her job. Jeanette has lived in America for 30 years. She’s a mother and grandmother of American citizens and a community leader who is a member of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and the American Friends Service Committee.

During Trump’s first term, she spent three months living in a church in Denver to avoid being deported and separated from her family, and she’s fought to keep other families together. She’s also been a prominent critic of Trump, and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston condemned her arrest as part of a “Putin-style persecution of political dissidents.”

Follow this link to sign the NDWA’s petition asking for her immediate release.
